BQQ Pit Profit Plan

Design and Build Custom BBQ Centers

The view of a family barbequing becomes a frequent one as the weather becomes warmer. In addition, let’s face it, most men love to BBQ! They also love to show off their new BBQ grills and accessories. Offer those men a custom-built BBQ center. The business is there. All you will need to have is some knowledge and experience in the construction of custom built barbeque centers, a popular choice of homeowners.

Many popular restaurants are still using the barbeque tradition. Barbeque enthusiasts and outdoor cooking are becoming more popular each year. Barbequing is a must-do, for most summer holidays and entertaining in the United States. You will want to select a safe place to keep the barbeque pit, with no leaves, trees, or other things that can catch fire. If you are planning to have the barbeque pit in front of your home, some of your neighbors may think you are trying to make smoke signals by creating smoke for a rescue. You also may decide to keep the pit in the center of your backyard, to make it more impressive. Just make sure there is nothing nearby it that might catch fire.

If you have agreed on the exact placement of the barbeque pit, start digging a circle that will fit the metal grill you are going to place there. After you have constructed the custom barbeque, and the pit is ready for use, place wood, and charcoal of your choice in it. Remember choosing the wrong wood or charcoal can create a lot of smoke. Show this to your customer. Let them know; that charcoal is the basic item needed and most people select oak or hickory chips to burn with it. Most successful barbeques use this because it will pass on a popular mellow smoky flavor to the food. (They also should make sure they follow the instructions on the charcoal and wood containers for proper use of these items) By using these kinds of selected woods and charcoals, they can become a successful Barbeque Chef. They can expect their guests to be impressed with their barbequing skills.

Make sure you pass-on basic barbeque skills and handy tips with your customer when starting the barbeque for the first time, with them present.

Offering a gift of a basic cookbook for barbequing, when you have finished building the new barbeque is a great idea too. It can be a cookbook you may have written or compiled yourself, or a popular one that you prefer to use when barbequing.

Also, make sure you leave your business cards and/or advertising, in the gift, when finished with a happy customer’s barbeque center. His guests may want to contact you themselves for your custom design and building of a pit for themselves. This will help the future growth of your business.

You may also want to offer another gift or added barbeque tools or features to the customers that pass your information on to new buying customers.

Delicious Ways To Make Money

There is one occupation in the United States that hires over 1.5 Million people and those 1.5 Million people all need one product.  For pennies on the dollar, you could grow a bushel of money in no time.  If you read the menu in any decent restaurant, you will notice that nearly every description boasts fresh herbs.  Where do these deliciously aromatic plants come from that everyone seems to be using?  Well, why not from your garden?

Most herbs are easy to grow and a luscious herb garden will not only brighten the yard, but also bring in cash.  You can start by noticing which herbs are the most popular in your area.  Permanent favorites include parsley, mint, basil, rosemary, and cilantro, but there are many more herbs that are exotic as well, such as lemon grass.

You will need some info on how your chosen herbs will grow best.  Check out:

www.muextension.missouri.edu/xplor/agguides/hort/g06470.htm, a university
website that explains what you need to know.

www.w3.aces.uiuc.edu/NRES/extension/factsheets/vc-44/VC-44.html – is a great
website that gives info on growing in containers, if you are short of space or share a garden with plant-eating creatures!

Once you know the best way to raise your plants, you need to find the seeds or starter plants.  These should be available in any gardening section or store.  Remember that some herbs like mint, love to spread, so don’t buy too many.  With proper care, your herb garden will explode on its own.

Now, once you have your lovely herbs growing everywhere, what do you do next?  There are several options.  You can sell straight to the consumer in a gardener’s market stand, or to restaurants.  Take samples of your best plants to the restaurants and be ready with pricing.  You should have researched prices ahead of time.

Another option is to sell wholesale to grocers.  Do the same as with restaurants, but you will have to lower your prices since the store will be marking them up to resell.  Or, you can sell starter plants yourself to other beginner gardeners.  This requires some advertising or a market stand if you have a local gardener’s market.  Alternatively, sell out of the back of a pickup; just make sure it is legal ahead of time.

Yet another way to use your herbs to bring in money is to create the product yourself.  This could be anything from herb vinegars and oils to dried herbs.  Your local library will have entire books on this subject.  Although the Internet is good, you usually won’t find a large number of recipes together and can save time if you have a book to work from.

With all these options, it’s easy to see how you can soon be earning the big bucks with just a green thumb!  As your business grows, so will your garden, so make sure you have lots of space to expand!
